The project

Following the success of the Epson Vortex the previous year, the brief was to raise the bar again. Epson needed a high-impact partner conference show and presentation for an audience of 600 industry professionals, with a screen setup unlike anything a standard venue had seen before.

The installation

The custom designed screen ran 20m wide, 16m tall and 60m deep, rigged from the floor and flowing along the ceiling overhead, wrapping the entire audience in over 14 million pixels. A large array of high lumen laser projectors powered by custom built media servers brought the full environment to life.

My role

Assigned as Creative Lead, I developed the full visual concept including the screen design tailored to the venue's unique layout. I led a multidisciplinary team through concept to delivery, contributing directly to the 10-minute custom animation, 3D character animations, audio design and technical direction. I also elevated the corporate PowerPoint presentation into something worthy of the scale of the screen.

Responsibilities covered creative direction, 3D animation and design, lighting, texturing, rendering, particle simulations and technical support.

The result

A cost effective, high impact show that redefined what a corporate partner event could look and feel like, delivered on time to a room of 600 people.
